Are ostrich tendons suitable for puppies?

Yes. Ostrich tendons are a delicious treat for puppies over 12 weeks old. They can be an excellent option for preventing your puppy from chewing on furniture when they are teething and will help soothe sore gums. In addition to that, ostrich chews are not rock-hard, so they will not damage delicate puppy teeth.

While they are fully digestible dog treats, we strongly recommend that all dogs are supervised whilst eating treats/deli products, especially puppies.

If you are in any doubt about age restrictions, please get in touch with us via woof@bettyandbutch.co.uk or use the live chat facility on our website.

    Further Information

All of our ostrich products are responsibly sourced from South Africa, on certified ostrich farms. They are not harvested from wild ostriches but rather a by-product of the ostrich meat industry. They are inspected by a vet and a health certificate is provided before we receive them.

Sourcing by-products of the meat industry is sustainable and means fewer animal parts are placed in landfills which releases carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere.
